Farmer of the Year Award 1999

Bon Homme Colony

Bon Homme Colony

The Bon Homme Colony was chosen as the 1999 Bon Homme County Conservation Farmer Award winner. They were selected for the conservation practices they have installed and the methods of conservation farming they practice. The Bon Homme Colony is located in the southeast corner of Bon Homme County. No-till farming has become their main goal for all cropland. The rural water system provides water to all land and pastureland through pipelines and tanks. Several ag waste management systems have been completed for their varied livestock enterprises. Several tree sites have been planted to provide wildlife cover and livestock protection.
